Tips[]
- It is highly recommended to save before attempting to dispel any chest especially if the Dispelling skill is low or the player has little practice in the minigame. While lower level wards do not cause much damage they can cause lasting Curses forcing the player to visit a Healer in order to get rid of the Curse.
- Dark sigils, the red spiked orbs which will automatically cause failure if activated, will appear on Average wards and above.
- Level 4 in Dispelling will remove all Dark sigils from the minigame decreasing the difficulty by a whole lot.
- Care should be taken while attempting to dispel more difficult wards (such as Hard and Very Hard) as the the damage caused by failing to dispel it can be massive and enough to even instantly kill fragile characters such as pure Sorcery and Finesse. The damage over time should also be taken in consideration as it might sap the player's health extremely quick leading to death.
- If you save before failing to dispel a chest, you have about second to open the chest before it kills you, letting you see what's inside and decide if it's worth loading and trying again. If you didn't save, hit the left arrow to take Healing Potion(s) before all your health is gone.
- Like lockpicking or looking in someone's pockets, dispelling is not a considered crime, as long as you don't take anything. This is useful for checking whether or not it's worth sneaking up to it.
- With the right combo of armor, potions and abilities, damage from failing to dispel can be lessened so you don't die. Damage from curses can be mitigated, even nullified.
