Cowls are a type of armor in Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. They use the head armor slot, similar to the Helms of fighters or the Caps of rogues. Designed for use by mage-style characters, all cowls will have a Sorcery requirement to equip them. They always add a bonus to mana regeneration and can have a multitude of other enchantments. All cowls provide the following effect:
- +15% Mana Regen per Sec
Note: Cowls are rarely referred to as "hoods". This can be confusing, as most items with the name "hood" are for Finesse characters. The House of Ballads Hood and Children of Erathell Hood are the two known two examples. Meanwhile, the Shadowskin Cowl is a Finesse item even though it has "cowl" in its name.
Crafting Cowls[]
- Main article: Blacksmithing
The Fateless One can craft cowls at any Blacksmithing Forge by using a cloth headdress and a lining; rivets and bindings are optional components. With sufficient skill, mastercrafted cowls that offer a boost to experience gained can be crafted.
The Fateless One can also disassemble existing cowls for salvage, recovering some of the above-mentioned components.
