• Talk to Idris Theonen in the Scholia Arcana library in the upper city of Rathir. He will give you the Omnibus Arcana for a multi-stage "visit various places" quest. To get the destination read the book each time after you've reached one of the locations that's defined by reading the book.
  1. Statue in front of the main hall in the courtyard
  2. Rathir bridge (fast travel to Rathir)
  3. Right outside the town of Mel Algir
  4. Kandrian countryside (west of Tam's Wagon)
• Once you passed the test where you have to "fight off the ambush", go back to Idris and when he asks you to choose from 6 principle, choose "Principle of Observation".
• Quest done!

The dialogue is a bit amusing if you've already completed the Scholia Arcana quest sequence. As the archmage, Idris tells you that you "have a promising future." Although, as you end the dialogue, he says "What.. oh right."
